What is included in a septic system inspection .
 ( 1 ) Check for proper drainage at the fixtures .
 ( 2 ) Describe the type of system installed . Open septic tank at access panels  .Inspect tank for cracks and for proper operation.

 ( 3 ) Probe in the yard with a steel rod to locate the corners of the septic tank .
 ( 4 ) Probe in the yard over the septic system drain field area ,to check for possible sewer water surfacing that would indicate the system failing .
 ( 5 ) Inspect for proper drainage around the septic system .
 ( 6 ) Inspect for minimal recommended distance from septic system to a water supply well .
